THE FASHION HISTORY The history of dress is longer than the history of architecture. the dress became a symbol of pride and social status.

PREHISTORY: The first dress protected against the cold or injury. The oldest evidence of tailoring is from the bronze age. The first people wore leather. In the arctic climate animal fur was available. The prehistorical people involved in a cult painted face and put a feather in their hair. They wanted to create a symbol of their role.

ANTIQUITY: Initially people wore a loincloth, which looked like today's shirt. In Egypt loincloth was sewn from leather and linen. In Mesopotamia loincloth was made from wool.
